Dixie and Four of Her Descendants Ran Well at Finger Lakes Hunt Test in Mexico, NY

Dixie ran in her fourth master state at the Finger Lakes July 2022 hunt test in Mexico, NY and earned her fourth qualifying score. We are extremely proud of Dixie who ran in her first master stake this past fall at the age of seven. In between her first two master hunt test runs she whelped her fifth and final litter. She is our first competition retriever and is amateur trained and handled. She stayed with me through a difficult handle on her third mark in the first series and then ran spotless from that point forward. She happened to draw the first spot in the running order which didn't seem to bother her but was nerve racking for her handler. Dixie's daughter Sophie from the March 2020 Whistler x Dixie litter ran in her first master hunter stake and earned her first qualifying score. Dixie's daughter Willow from the November 2020 Whistler x Dixie litter ran in her second senior hunter stake and earned her second qualifying score. Shoal and Bo are both from the March 2021 Tank x Artemis litter (Yellowstone Retrievers in Kent Island, MD). Artemis who has a SH title is from the December 2017 Major x Dixie litter. Shoal earned her JH title and Bo earned his third JH qualifying score. All together, Dixie had four of her descendants earn qualifying scores at the event (one MH, one SH, and two JH). We thank God for this wonderful dog and all the great experiences she has provided us. Our thanks also go to the land owners, the Finger Lakes Retriever club, the judges, and to our wonderful trainers and friends Tim and Janel Mumford of Can Do Kennels in Selbyville, DE. We are taking deposits now for our next litter which is expected in late 2022 or early 2023. Please contact us if you would like information about our next litter.
