Dixie participated in her second Master Hunter test at the Back Bay Knotts Island Retriever Club Fall 2021 hunt test. It was cold but a beautiful weekend. Dixie ran well in all three series and earned her second MH qualifying score. She had a tough first series with the flyer hooking around a Mom and Pop station and landing on the same side of the station as the dead bird that was thrown from that station. She managed to work out those two marks which ended up being very close together and then later in the same series ran through the scent of both of those birds back to a long blind. As an added challenge the blind planter forgot to plant her blind but she put her nose right on the spot where the blind was supposed to have been placed and so the judges asked me to have her sit in the field while they ran out and placed the blind. We are super proud of Dixie and really excited about her upcoming litter as we plan to breed her on her next cycle which should be very soon.
